Thank you Lisa!

Lisa your tips were really great! Thank you for taking the time to help me. I AM REALLY looking forward to the "journey" ahead for my student, his classmates, and for me!!! I have to admit that I truly thought that the last
3 months he spent "copying" from his classmates' papers was "unproductive". However, since I heard from KT, Denise, and you I have learned that EVERY time he interacted with his peers and teacher, he WAS, indeed learning!!!!
As for the ESL teacher, text, and books, I will need to contact the schools to see just what kind of resources they may have. I believe that he is one of the
the first ESL students to go through our school system. I know that sounds strange, but our area is a (RARE) 98% caucasion. I only wish that I had found out that he'd be in my class, earlier than the last day of school! Then I would have tried to contact an ESL teacher before school was out for the summer!!!
What book would you recommend as a "MUST HAVE" for me to order or buy at a teacher's store??? I plan to label the room and contents with both Spanish and English words to help him familiarize himself (as well as, all of us) with important things in the classroom. Any web sites you could recommend???? I took two years of Spanish in high school, so I do have a basic idea of the Spanish language!!! Again Lisa, thanks!
