I taught English and the the DOL's. This year I taught 7th grade math and instead of calling it a DOL I changed it to "DMS" meaning Daily Math Skills. The kids got used to it and it really worked in building their skills, retaining prior knowledge and confidence. You might also want to change the acronym for your science class if you think it might work for you.... maybe "DSP" for Daily Science Problems? Good Luck!
