HELLO! Sorry about the time delay Ive been really hectic. Here is the letter I used. Hope it helps! Good luck!

Dear so and so...
I am writing to you to inquire about the employment needs for the 2001-2002 school
year. I am graduating in May from Quinnipiac University Masters program with a Master of Arts in Elementary Education. Upon completion of my degree, I will be certified to teach first through sixth grade.

Quinnipiac University has provided me with an opportunity to teach students of all ability levels in diverse educational settings. My clinical experiences have allowed me to develop

teaching strategies as well as reflect upon the strengths and weaknesses of my instructional approach.

My graduate school internship has been a remarkably rewarding and beneficial experience. This internship has provided me with the opportunity to incorporate diverse teaching strategies into the classroom. These experiences with kindergarten through sixth grade have allowed me to facilitate and instruct students at varying learning levels. My experience as a first grade student teacher has challenged me to develop lessons that are not only exciting and creative, but directly appropriate to the needs and interests of all students involved. In addition, I feel that my accomplishment of spearheading the Title One tutorial program at Helen Street Elementary School in Hamden, displays the superb organization and leadership skills that I possess. I understand the demand for creative, enthusiastic, flexible and knowledgeable educators, and this is why I am contacting you.

I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss with you how I know I can be an asset to your school system. I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely,

Jaclyn S. Oakes
