I was hired mid-year as "permanent sub" for a 6-8 resource room (the teacher was being reassigned due to lack of teaching, discipline, etc.). Anyway, it worked out. I was hired full-time permanent at the end of the school year. I remained with that district/school for another 7 years prior to an out-of-state move. This is a great opportunity for you. You can have the principal observe you too. This way you can prove yourself for another position. Good luck!
