Also get ahold of the language arts program (lessons, whatever) that you're expected to teach and read that through to get familiar with it. Let the lessons "sink in" and float around in your mind. Over the course of your summer, ideas should pop up in your head ... usually at the most inappropriate time, like driving cross country...so keep a notepad & pen in your purse! Find out if you have a mentor, who that person is, and get a phone number and CALL!!! They should be able to give you a lot of the nitty gritty, what to worry about now & waht can be put off until later. These, I think are the important issues for now. Remember, YOU'RE ON SUMMER VACATION! Enjoy yourself! Worry about setting up your classroom a little later. Sit back & enjoy the feeling of having a job come the fall. Feels great, don't it? Good Luck!
