Go for it! By First Year Teacher

Sara, If you really like the school, my advice is to accept the position. A one year position like this is a great way to build a reputation as a reliable employee, one that the principal will want to keep. I would think | you'd be first in line at the end of next year for any openings because you have experience at that school. Of course, you never know what's going to happen. I did a maternity leave at one school and despite prior indications that she wouldn't be back, the teacher did decide to return. On the other hand, I spent a whole semester subbing full time at a grade school that I really | | like and it looks like I'll have my own classroom there for next year. :-) Go for it. Why worry about the future right now, when you have a wonderful opportunity to teach for a whole year at a school you like? Hope this helps! First Year Teacher
