Go for it!
By First Year Teacher

Clip to ScrapBook
Sara,

If you really like the school, my advice is to accept the position. A one year position like this is a great way to build a reputation as a reliable employee, one that the principal will want to keep. I would think
you'd be first in line at the end of next year for any openings because you have experience at that school.

Of course, you never know what's going to happen. I did a maternity leave at one school and despite prior indications that she wouldn't be back, the teacher did decide to return. On the other hand, I spent a whole semester subbing full time at a grade school that I really

like and it looks like I'll have my own classroom there for next year. :-)

Go for it. Why worry about the future right now, when you have a wonderful opportunity to teach for a whole year at a school you like?

Hope this helps!
