Jobs
By Lynn

Clip to ScrapBook
I have usually 26 to 28 students each year in my fifth grade class and I rotate the jobs weekly. Each child has a name card and the job is posted on the left (Monitor). I also have a substitute for each job on the right
(Substitute) in case the monitor is absent or out of the room when I need it. I have the following jobs: Teacher's Helper, Classroom Monitor, Paper Monitor, 2 Home Folder Monitors (collects HW in the homework folder and separates it for me), 2 Line Leaders, Computer Monitor, Closet Monitor, Poet of the Week, Attendance Monitor, Supply Monitor, Board Monitor, and Classroom Secretary (writes
down the h.w. assignment for absent students).
This has worked well for me because it allows the students to see what job they will have next week. The rotation is always the same. Straight down the Monitor side to the top of the Substitute side and then down. Good luck--if you have any questions E-mail me
