Questions

Clip to ScrapBook
I signed my contract today so here are a few I asked:

Dates- What is the start date for new hires? When do returning teachers start?

Salary- When are pay days? Can I arange for direct deposit into my bank account?
What deductions will I see from my pay check? How do I move over on the pay scale (years alone or do classes help)?

Benefits- What is covered by the district? Are additional plans available for additional cost? Are dependents covered? What is the deadline for registration?

Required Trainings- Are there specific classes (induction) that you will need to attend and is the schedule

available? Will you receive credit for these? Do they work toward movement on the pay scale?

Association Dues - You will probably need to ask a rep. from you local association but find out about any dues you may need to pay.

I know this is a lot of money stuff but it is okay to ask now that you have your job. I have seen many teachers go into shock about when payday is and how much will be in that first check. You need this info to budget your money well untill you start getting those regular checks. Good luck and congratulations!
