You are soooo right

Clip to ScrapBook
If I hear one more time how easy teaching is, I just may spit in the person's eye!!! I wonder if these people know or care about how totally disrespectful they are being to those of us who do one of the hardest jobs on earth
and still strive to make each day the very best that we can for the kids we teach? I am usually in very early each day and on most days, the only one left in the building with me is the custodian and he is telling me to go home at 5:30 or 6:00PM!! Even then I can look forward to another 1 1/2 to2 hours of planning, grading calling parents, etc. before I go to sleep. Oh, by the way,
did I happen to mention that I have a husband, family and home to take care of too??? Then,of course, there are those famous "summers off". I don't know about the rest of the posters here, but I am using three of those weeks to take classes to keep up with my state's PDP requirements for recertification (which we must do every 5 years).

All I can say to those cretins who are so quick to think of us as slackers is, " Come in to any classroom and do what we do for a week". I can pretty much guarantee that they will run screaming out of the building at the first opportunity.
