Literature and Basal
By Donna

Clip to ScrapBook
I don't know if you would then have a basal circle as opposed to literature circle. This year our basal had "snipits" of great literature--my students read the book Where the Red Fern Grows instead of the "snipits" in the book. Starting all of your projects in one year is tough and very over whelming. Bite off as much as you can do well and let the rest wait. It is worth it because the student truly bloom in the type of program you have outlined. You cannot teach what you do not believe but you can take what you have to teach and make it fit for you and your students. Good luck, it is a journey well worth your time and "sweat".
