( From The Vent.) This will be my fourth year teaching, two years in 2nd grade. After 12 years of classes, part-time of course, and student teaching during the day and working at night,...I finally reached my goal of graduation and to teach children. I just celebrated my 57th birthday last week! I am so glad that I "retired" into teaching. There have been various "logs" that have dropped in my path, but overall I have found that the districts have welcomed a life experienced mature teacher. I have noticed a lot of support, help, and encouragement from the younger new grad at my school. Hope we get a board for 2nd career teachers!
