This year I used the book "Hatchet" with my high school class. They are reading on a fourth to fifth grade reading level. They didn't want to read it, but once we started they loved it. One student even took it home to read the ending; this was a first. It is one book I recommend to any teacher. It's about a 13 year old boy who gets lost in the Canadian wilderness. There is even a movie called "A Cry in the Wild". The movie's not as good as the book.
