Word Walls
By Amy

Clip to ScrapBook
I have used a Word Wall in my classroom for the past two years and have found it to be very beneficial for my first graders! I also use the "Working with Words" 4-block book by Patricia Cunningham and it is a wonderful resource
full of many fun and exciting ways to incorporate your word wall daily. For my word wall, I made a very large bulletin board, with large letters of the alphabet on it, I write my words on index cards and laminate them for future use. Once the kids get into the habit of using the word wall, you will find that they begin to look at it on their own before asking you how to spell a
word in their writing. For my students that forget to use the word wall, I will simply remind them that the word is on the word wall and that they need to find it to spell correctly! Good Luck with your word wall
