web pages

Clip to ScrapBook
I would start with your school and see what they do. My school has it's own server which is tied into our division's server. We have all the school web sites served through them. This of course is nice because I do not
have to pay a fee to have my school's web page that I created on the web.

So cost is a factor. There are free programs out there. Geocities, Yahoo and others who offer free web pages. They are nice to start with but I find they are slow to load and you are limited somewhat with what you can do.

There are good programs out there that make web page design a breeze. I use FrontPage

2000, but I know there are others that are equally user friendly. If you haven't done much before you'll want to start with the basics and add things like Java later.

Your division might offer courses - I know ours does. There are courses usually through colleges too. FrontPage is pretty easy to figure out if you know a bit about computers. If you have used PowerPoint you can use FrontPage.

If you have to find someone to host your page you are usually looking at $300.00 or more a year to have your web page hosted. That's why you will often see web pages with advertisement banners on them. They help to defer the costs.

I'm still relatively new at web page design, but if you want to see my school's web page just send me an email and I'll send you the url.
