I just finished up with averages a few weeks ago. I had my students find their own averages based on their math classwork. I gave each child a list of their grades (this was about 7 per student) and I also allowed them to use a calculator. They were then able to find their own average! They loved this and now I find them writing down grades and finding other subject averages.
