I am so glad to see your letters and read positive words about balancing career and home. I am the mother of 2 young boys (6&8) and working as a 5th grade teacher. I have taught for 5 years and this has been my best year
ever teaching but it has always been difficult to balance home and school. I feel that when I give a lot at home, school suffers and the same in reverse. So often, I end up feeling like I do a mediocre job everywhere instead of feeling like a good mom or teacher!
I know that I have it better than the mom who commutes each day to the city and is gone from her home 12 hours a day.

There are so many positives to teaching and I am so happy with my class, collegues, etc... but this has been one of those weeks where I am overwhelmed and I need a few days with no one but myself(and the pile of laundry that is over my head!)
I am sure that today will be a better day. Your letters are showing me that we all struggle sometimes!
