Based upon the proposed 2001-2002 salary schedule, beginning teachers with zero classroom experience can expect to receive $28,338, that's with a T4 certificate.

College graduates looking into that "crash course" are in for a surprise. They will eventually have to go back to school to get certification just like any other teacher candidate. This crash couse is designed to fill vacancies by getting these candidates' "feet in the door" in a short amount of time.

I, too, felt that this was unfair to veteran teachers and to students. But I don't feel that many people would care for the pay, nor will they care for the responsibilities other than teaching that we have to endure.
