I have a good principal, too.
By Chris

Clip to ScrapBook
I can have discussions like an adult with my principal. I don't care what mood anyone is in, teacher, principal, or parent. I don't want someone coming in and snapping my head off just because they are having a "bad day." It is unprofessional and reveals a lack of self-control. If I, as a teacher, were to resort to anger with an adult, how reliable would I be with students day in and day out? Patience is a hall mark of a good teacher. I might suggest a friend or colleague to vent to the night before, and then calm discussions at school the next day. What might feel good isn't necessarily the right thing to do.
