fun day activities

Clip to ScrapBook
At our school on sports day one of the more opular activities is the shuttle run. Those participating are divided up by age groups. A few at a time are lined up at the end of the gym and given a chalkboard eraser. The
children have to run to the other end of the gym, place the eraser on a particular line and run back to the original spot, touch the starting line, go back and get the eraser and cross the original starting line. The winners of each race face off in the final for their appropriate age group.
Another event enjoyed by the children is the "hoop roll". The person who rolls the Hula
Hoop farthest down the hall before it hits the wall is the winner.
Also, one other event enjoyed by the older children(we are k-5) is the egg toss(done outside of course). Using uncooked eggs, children pair off and start out standing opposite each other a few feet apart. Partners take turns tossing the egg back and forth, stepping back further after each toss. Of course, the remaining two children win.
Hope these ideas can help you.
