I think that sometimes parents are in denial about their childs behavior and/or academic achievement. I also think that parents find it easier to take out their negative feelings on first year teachers. At least this has been the case for me. I have one student who has had behavior and academic problems throughout the year and I have tried numerous times and ways to help her and still her and her mother are rude to me. It is definetely hard to please everyone and it sure would be nice if parents could appreciate all that teachers do for their kids.
