teaching my kids
By christine

Clip to ScrapBook
I taught my son last year ( 1st grade - because there was no other choice) and my daughter this year ( because it wouldn't have been fair to her).
I never had any problems with parents; they knew I would treat all kids
exactly the same way. Both my kids called me Mrs or teacher at school and Mom at home. They even went as far as saying things like ' You know, Mrs R, yesterday it was my sister's birthday and we ate a raspberry cake!' The other teachers are always amazed at how my kids keep the two relationships separated. At school, I'm a teacher and that's it! But my husband is doing all the signing,
homework etc... I don't want to be a teacher for them outside of school.
I did have a bit of a problem last year because a little girl was in my class and not in her mother's class ( in another school). She got quite jealous of my son. But she had lots of other problems too, she would have been unhappy in anyone's class. I enjoyed having my kids with me but it didn't really change our relationship- I kept things separated too! Email me if you have more questions!
