Vocabulary Bingo is always a winner in the 5th grade class where I'm student teaching.
I give out blank bingo cards and the students can write in their vocabulary words however they want. They can use all the words or pick and choose. It is their card, they can fill it their way with the exception of using one word for each column. Then after that is complete, I call out definitions. They have to mark the correct word. The winner can get bonus points on their test or some small prize.
Also, you can do a vocabulary 'bee'. Just like an old fashion spelling bee but they have to tell the definition or the word.
