professionalism
By Colleen

Clip to ScrapBook
I really don't care what others think about my profession. I love what I do. My students love coming to school each day and that is all I need to keep me going. Even when parents are not supportive, their children
seem to like school and that make me happy. I still get hugs even from kids I had fifteen years ago. Everyone remembers their first grade teacher but not too may people know who designed their new car or even built their house. One of the nicest things that was said to me by several parents over the years was that they could tell I loved my job because it showed.
One more thing,
even though my husband makes a good living,I make it a point not to dress too nicely or drive a flashy car to make a point that do not make much money. There is a joke at my school about this. When we have an open house and the teachers are talking about what to wear we always say,"Can't dress to nicely or they'll(parents) think were getting paid too much."
