I agree with both of you. Sometimes parents want to shift the blame on someone or something. I have student who is struggling a bit in phonics. At first, the parent wanted to attribute that to a speech problem (which he does not have, nor does he qualify for services at our school.) And now the parent wants the child tested for ADHD (which in my opinion, he does not qualify.) This child is under my instruction/supervision for six hours and I see no signs of ADHD. But the parent disregarded my opinion and the opinion of our school psychologist and got him placed on medication from an outside psychologist. Maybe situations like this happens more often.
