Not important, eh?

If teaching is not so important, then why are many of these very same people who think it's a "nothing" profession crying out that education should be the country's number one priority (or at least number 2 after the environment)? Why are our governments so concerned with the state of education? Why is there always a need for more money, teachers, research etc. in education? I wonder how these critics think that people get successful if it doesn't take intelligence to be a teacher. Maybe they need to go back to school!!
