Unfortunately you will hear those comments a lot. Just remember to keep your head held high, and keep in mind that you are doing what YOU love. People have said to me, "You are smart. Why did you ONLY become a teacher, you could have been a doctor or something." I usually respond to those people by saying "If it wasn't for teachers their wouldn't be anyone to do any of those other professions." I have always wanted to be a teacher and even though every day is different and every day is a challenge I truly love it. Hope this makes sense and some of it helps.
