Studetnts are in our classrooms at 7:30. we start Accelerated Reader then. At 8:00, the whole school does DEAR (drop everything and read). At 8:20 actual "teaching" begins. I consider AR teaching because I am conferencing with students. Our day ends at 2:45 when the car riders are released. This is a second and third grade school in Alabama.
