reducing fractions
By Bebe

Clip to ScrapBook
hi, just put 2 3 5 7 11 on the board, then draw an upside down division box. if the fraction is 15 over 40 , put the num. first and the denom. second, then see which one # will divide into both #s. Then see if you can use that num. again or if you can use any other # that will go into both #s. just as long as you can find one #(any of the above listed)that will go into both #s, then you can see if that same # or any of the other #s go into both the den. and the num. i honestly dont know if this makes sense. feel free to email me. this is so much easier than using the GCF method. good luck!
