Out of control kids
By Lydia

Clip to ScrapBook
This is my first year and have heard about end of the year problems like all of the previously mentioned. My 7th graders (160-inner-city) are an unusually rough group to handle...I feel like I finally had control as of January, but now, after break, they can't seem to function in any way. Example: I'm teaching a lesson and "Joe" shouts out, "CAN I GO TO THE BATHROOM?" Or, the infamous line "How many days do we have left of school?" I really enjoy the students, but their energy level is to the extreme of managability, and my patience and stamina are truly being tested. Now, as a parent, I can reflect and understand what my children's teacher's were saying about teaching 7th grade and all of the complexities surrounding this age group!
