poetry
By Ted

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi;
I teach third and fourth grade and am doing an on-going poetry unit. Each week we do a different style of poetry-acrostic, diamante, limerick, couplet, etc., the list is endless. After the students revise their poems they take them to the computer lab and we print them out on cute paper-places like Walgreens, WalMart, etc., sell fancy letter paper relatively cheap. Sometimes we do poetry on colors and just print the poem on the color of their choice. The kids are so excited when they see their poems printed. (The paper really makes it look extra-special.) I save them and when we are finished we'll bind them or put them in a special folder. Makes poetry fun for kids that are apprehensive about it at first.
