I am in my second year of teaching. Last year I gave each of my children a book. It is educational which is what I feel a year end gift should be. I also wrote a personal little note or poem on the inside cover of the book. This way, each child will remember his grade one year each time he reads the book. *(The books didn't cost me anything as they were free picks each time I sent a book order in throughout the school year).
