    "explaining grade choice"
    By Terry

    Clip to ScrapBook
I would explain my grade choice as "my talents lean toward" whatever grade that I prefer. In your case, tell about what you love doing in that particular grade -- planning centers, teaching reading...etc -- but never mention any negatives about any grade on any job interview whatsoever. If asked, "Why do you prefer the lower grades?" Never say anything negative about the upper grades...."The older students are to dangerous, whiney, etc...." You never know, that principal or supervisor may have a terrific kid in that grade and my think you couldn't cut it.
