    Revising ideas!

I feel the same about revising--I always seem to neglect it! Here are a few ideas I have been given along the way. Have the students write down all the first words of their sentences. THey tend to be "I" or "The" a lot of the time. This shows the kids if they have varied sentence structure and allows them to make changes if possible. I also have them write down all the nouns for each sentence and add at least one adjective to describe it--sometimes we take them out after if it sounds funny. I also have the students "tell" their story/narrative/article to another student and that student takes notes on important stuff--after they look at the written paper and make sure they have included everything that is important. We also do this in a group sometimes allowing the student telling the paper to stop and jot things down. Peer revising is great--the kids can really help each other! Hope I have helped!! God luck!
