1. Studnets like perfomance tasks and culminating projects the best--gives them a chance to be creative and is not a "test" to them.

2. I use tests, quizzes, observations, scoring rubrics, performnace tasks, culminating
projects, open response questions (require synthesis, analysis, and reflection), and self-assessment.
3. I make all my own tests--most text tests are all one type of question and experince has taught me that some kids are better at a certain type of question than others. I always have at least 4 different types of questions on the test (multiple choice, fill in blank, short answer,

matching, true/false, essay). I was taught this by my undergradute "assessment" teacher.

4. All assessments include the studnet, right? Yes, the studnet is involved in self-assessement and reflection. We use a series of questions like What did you do the best?, what could you ha done better?, what was your favcorite part? Why?, what will you change the next time? What have you learned?
