I sub at the middle school level and know a lot of middle school teachers. They seem to alternate things Two days of reading, a day of spelling and a day of grammar. You can leave Fridays for review day, test day, or just silent reading. You can also use Fridays for in class writing. I would strongly urge you to go the local middle school and get some of the teacher inputs over there too.

You might miss the other subjects at first, but you may also enjoy the variety of students you see everyday. The day also goes by quicker.
