Letters From Felix is a GREAT series. It's about a bunny that travels to different places and sends his owner, Sophi, letters from his travels. There are actual enveleopes with letters in the book. the kids love it.
After| we read the book we sent off travelmates. These were little bears with a journal. The directions asked the people that received the travelmate to write in the journal about where they live, send a postacrd to the class to let us know where the bear was, and then pass the bear onto someone else. We have gotten over 50 postcards from all over the world. We chart our bears' travels on a | |
large map. You could do something like this, but keep it within the US.The kids love receiving the postcards and its a fun way to learn a little bit about the world.
