bindings

Clip to ScrapBook
We bind books several different ways. My favorite is to three-hole-punch a manila file folder. Then hole-punch the pages of your book and insert them. We tie with yarn or crochet thread. The file folder keeps the book nice and makes a great cover for artwork. When I'm having students work on books a page at a time, we use the file folders to gather their work, then use the same folder as the cover.

Another way to bind thin books (about 6 pages or less) is to sew them together with your sewing machine. Use a very wide stitch and button twist thread. You can't really sew the cover on, but you can glue or tape a cover on after you have done the sewing.
