"Game Show Host" is posted under something like "math facts" on the 3rd grade Board. Here's a copy of the game:"math facts" Posted by Kathy on Oct-25-01 at 02:09 PM (EST) I teach my kids a game called "Game Show Host". (I got it from someone else on the internet!) It works for addition and mult. facts. Each child needs a deck of regular playing cards-take out the picture cards, but the ace can stay in. This game is played in groups of three-two players and one Game Show Host. The two players sit across from each other at a desk with their stack of cards in front of them. GSH says "cards up" and each child puts a card up on his/her forehead. Of course, he/she can't see his/her own card, just the other player's card. The GSH says "The sum is .. " and adds the two numbers together for add. or "The product is... " and multiplies the two numbers together for mult. The first player to give both numbers keeps both cards. The player with the most cards at the end is the winner. Then switch players so someone else is the GSH and keep going. I hope this makes sense. The kids love this game!!! Hope you this game helps and adds some spice to your multiplication practice.
