It's nice to know that it's not just me. Thanks for your response. So, things are better with traditional paper and pencil activities? I'm scared to do that because it's against my teaching philosophy. I feel strongly about doing cooperative learning, hands-on science, and other interactive activities. However, a few of the students are ruining these fun activities for the whole class. Today (Halloween) we did lots of fun worksheets. The students were awesome! They did their work and didn't complain. But I think that is a boring way to do things. Can there be a class that can't handle an engaging teaching style? All through college they taught us how to get students involved and engaged through a variety of lesson formats, steering clear away from worksheets and textbooks. I just can't see myself going to worksheets and textbooks. Ugh...I don't know what to do.

But about the principal, I talked to her about the concerned parent. She was very supportive, I just wanted to let her know before the parent did.
