Thanks for the support...

...but I think there are several factors that are bothering them about the class:
1. They are almost all ninth graders, this is their first year of high school.
2. We have block scheduling, which, being ninth graders,
they are not used to and do not like.
3. Mine is the last class of the day.
4. A lot of the kids aren't doing well. Some are doing very well, but a lot of them are not.
To break things up, I try to do games, I try to give them a walk-around activity once each period. Sometimes this works, sometimes this does not. They complain INCESSANTLY that I give them homework every day
(I don't, even though I am supposed to). As for laughing at myself...that's exactly what I did when I tripped, but one boy still brings it up. I will have to try that mouthwash one, though--thanks for the suggestion! I have another problem too, though, but I am going to create another post for that.
