I can't believe the amount of interruptions you have throughout the day. This is my first year teaching (3rd) and I was telling the other teachers ( who have been wonderful) how do you ever teach? They started laughing at me, and they said that, "you haven't seen anything yet". We are also rehearsing for a play for next week. They have assembly in the mornings (I teach at a Catholic School) where we say prayers and the pledge, etc..( which usually takes about ten-minutes) But, today the took fourty-minutes to give out prizes to students for selling candy, they went class and called out each student's name, even Pre-K! We also have throughout the week; Computer, Library, Spanish, P.E., Music, Art, Churh (every Wednesday) and starting in November another "Art type" class is going to start. Plus, each teacher and every student has to sign up for a club, which will also meet (I hheard) throughout the school day. Unbelievable! My fellow teachers bascically said, as soon as you get in the class start teaching! because your may not be able to do it later. So, Jessica, I understand completely what you're talking about.
