Kindergarten
By Coleen

Clip to ScrapBook
In your message you mentioned that you know that if you had an emergency in your classroom that none of your kindergarten students would be able to help you. I have been teaching kindergarten for 5 years now and I am in a rural setting, privately run with no other teachers, secretaries, pricipals etc.. We do have a playschool class that is next door to us however. From the very beginning 5 years ago and every year, I teach my kids what to do in an emergency. We are alone a lot of the time and if something happens to one of them or to me they need to know what to do. They learn very quickly, and are very capable so be sure that you don't underestimate what 5 and 6 year olds can do.
