Breakfast Math
By Elaine

Clip to ScrapBook
Have you read THE MATH CURSE to your students? It's all about how everything in life is a math problem. If I'm not mistaken, I think the main character (who gets cursed with math by his math teacher, Mrs. Fibonacci) starts out by waking up in the morning, having breakfast, getting ready for school . . . etc. It could be fun.

Also we are doing a unit on fractions, percents, and decimals. One activity suggests using the nutritional information on the side of cereal boxes to investigate these concepts. I haven't taught that series of lesson yet, so I don't know exactly how it's set up. Let me know if you are interested -- I'll see if I can be more helpful.
