Open Court Reading Program
By Reane

Clip to ScrapBook
I'm in my fourth year of using the Open Court Reading program. Best advice, don't worry, you don't need to do every worksheet, workbook page(we have three), step-by-steps and decodables in great detail. Many activities are intended to be 3 to 5 minutes don't make them longer. You'll never get to it all. Pick and choose the necessary skills by using your state's standards. In our district we are required to teach language arts for 2 1/2 daily and we don't get to it all. Our district uses a flow chart and we have seen improvement with having the consistent program throught out the grade levels.
