I've noticed that simple modeling is enough to correct a lot of behavior in the classroom. The classroom that I am in also does the "Give me five." When the children start to get off task the teacher will say give me five and raise her hand. The children then know they were getting out of hand. They all stop whatever it is that they are doing and raise their hands. The teacher then regains control of the classroom. It works beautifully!
