rotation schedule By j

I was also faced with the dilemma of not having students able to access the computers. I initially set up a rotation schedule and the students began to rush through their work even if it was their day to be on the computer.| I finally decided that the best way to solve this problem was to set up the rotation schedule with our three computers and the time would be during our morning work time. This way, each morning, while 20 of my students are completing their daily language activity and math problem of the day, as well as their silent reading (8:45-9:15), the other three are excused from that day's morning |
| work because their morning work will be what ever activity they are working on for the computer. The kids love it because they get their computer time on an equal, steady, and consistent basis, plus they know they have different morning work that day. The other students don't rush through their a.m. work because they know the computer is not an option for them during this time. If you have a class size that lends itself well to this rotation AND you don't mind eliminating the morning work for three or four students once every few days, then this might work for you. Good luck! Some day, every classroom will have enough computers to accommodate all students!
