1st graders not listening

I teach third grade and don't have storytime on the floor, but I have a suggestion. Your students need to have their own space. I have seen some teachers mark off squares on the carpet with masking tape. Or you could possibly get some small carpet remnants and have one for each child to sit on. Just an idea! Hope this helps.
