First I would like to thank everyone for the great advice. This past week has been really good. I have created a visual timetable...now if I can only get the assistant to follow it.
Tonight was "meet the teacher" night. His parents are very happy with my classroom. His behaviour has been really good all week. Unfortunately today was not a good day with my assistant. I don't think she likes my room. For the past 12 years she has worked in a special needs school so she is not used to a "regualar" classroom. Today she got mad at me (I not sure what for) and didn't even say good bye. I'm not sure how I am going to deal with the situation.
