I'm feeling discouraged, too
By me too

Clip to ScrapBook
My 4th graders don't seem to care AND their parents don't seem to care either. I teach in an inner-city school and the lack of respect in my students is UNBELIEVABLE! I have a strong behavior management system in place
with strict consequences and rewards. It is working well, BUT it is taking everything I have to get my class motivated and I am sick of dealing with petty behavior issues instead of teaching. Worse, when I talk with some parents, it goes in one ear and out the other. They back their children 100%. Luckily, my principal is completely supportive and the staff I work with is as well. But,
lately, I have been feeling like I am wasting my hard work and time. I've been feeling like I just can't do this. I am the most optimistic person, too. But, this feels like I am barely keeping my head above water and am constantly sinking in paperwork and behavior problems. I'm sorry for going on and on about it, but I just had to vent here. I feel the same way, and like you, I just hope things are better tomorrow. They can't get much worse
