Videotaped lesson By Sharon

You can do a lesson on creating sensory images while reading. I did my videotape (for NYS also)on the same thing. I began by model creating images. I read a poem by Shel Silverstein (The Dirtiest Man In The World). Then I had pre-drawn a picture that showed the picture that I created in my mind of "Dirty Dan". I used alot of descriptive words to dedescribe "Dirty Dan". The students and I shared the images they created and I recorded a few. The students then went into their independent activity. They had to write down all the images that they created under appropriate title on their sensory images | | skill sheet. (see, hear, smell, taste, feel) They did this using another Silverstein poem, The Crocodile"s Tooth Ache. Then we came together and shared the images that were evoked. I did all of this following that time frame that NYS gives you. I felt alittle hurried, but it wnt over well. Hope this helps! Good Luck. By the way I pased :-)
